Resident Assistant West Des Moines
Des Moines University hosts the Health P.A.S.S. (Health Professions Advanced Summer Scholars) program for undergraduate students from underrepresented/disadvantaged backgrounds who are interested in pursuing medical/health professions. 10-15 individuals will be identified for the 2025 Health P.A.S.S. class. The Resident Assistant serves as a DMU representative, mentor evening/weekend on-site contact person, and van driver while the participants are in West Des Moines.
Animal Caretaker (.5) West Des Moines
Responsible for the general care of animals in the animal care facility on weekends, holidays and during the absence of the full-time Animal Caretaker.
Regional Simulation Center Technical Specialist Des Moines
The Regional Simulation Center Technical Specialist will coordinate with staff of the Regional Simulation Center at 3200 Grand to design, prepare, train, operate, support, and assess all technical aspects of educational programs being conducted in the Regional Simulation Center. Additionally, this position will function as the technical leader for new and current inventory of technical simulation equipment essential to the efficient operation of the Regional Simulation Center.
Standardized Patient West Des Moines
In a clinical-like setting (in-person or online), portrays cases similar to what learners would encounter in actual clinical settings. Simulated patients are expected to consistently and accurately portray trained cases including typical emotions, behaviors and symptoms. Responsible for memorizing a script and recalling actions performed by learners to document performance and skill level of each learner consistently and accurately. Case portrayals may include communication, physical examination or both. Simulated patients may also provide feedback and/or assess learners using specific measurement tools. Participation in group or individual training is expected in order to prepare for case portrayal. Work hours are variable and on an on-call basis.
Human Simulation Program Manager West Des Moines
The Human Simulation Program Manager will provide daily management and oversight of the Human Simulation Program. This position will use an evidence-based approach to drive quality in human simulation programming. The Human Simulation Program Manager will collaborate with program faculty and Human Simulation Educators to develop and implement human simulation events, especially complex and detailed projects such as human simulation online and Interprofessional Education (IPE) events.
Director Undergraduate Clinical Affairs West Des Moines
The Director of Undergraduate Clinical Affairs will oversee internal daily operations of the department and develop and maintain clinical rotations training sites affiliated with Des Moines University (DMU). In maintaining the quality of its clinical rotation sites, this position will directly supervise and coordinate Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (DMU COM’s) clinical coordinator team. This position will be responsible for cultivating relationships with hospitals and preceptors to align college and university goals to deliver effective clinical education for our 3rd and 4th year students. This leadership position is also responsible, in conjunction with the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, for identifying potential sites for undergraduate education opportunities. The Director serves as a liaison for the DMU COM and will support compliance, facilitate communication, and interface with accreditation agencies and clinical institutions. This position will report to the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs within the COM Dean’s office.
Computational Fellow West Des Moines
We seek a highly motivated and experienced individual for the position of Computational Fellow with a focus on data science, bioinformatics, and data analytics. The successful candidate will lead innovative research projects, contribute to shared resources, mentor students, secure funded grants, and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Assistant Professor Physician Assistant West Des Moines
Work collaboratively with the Program Director, program faculty and staff, and other university departments to create and maintain an exceptional educational program for physician assistant (PA) students. All faculty positions include teaching, scholarly activity, and service responsibilities, and may or may not include administrative duties or clinical practice opportunities.
Athletic Trainer West Des Moines
Athletic Trainers are healthcare providers who specialize in providing primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, along with rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic Trainers will provide onsite coverage at the MidAmerican Rec Plex or at other affiliate locations as needed for a wide variety of sports. Athletic Trainers will assist with leading, supervising, and instructing performance classes, clinics, and camps. In addition, athletic trainers will provide education to athletes, families, coaches, DMU students, and the community on injury prevention, sports rehabilitations, and performance enhancement while providing exceptional customer service.
