Staff Counselor (.8 FTE) West Des Moines
The mission of the Student Counseling Center (SCC) is to provide a range of psychological services that serve to empower, support, and assist students in the pursuit of their personal, professional, and academic endeavors. In pursuing the mission of the organization, the SCC makes policies, decisions, and strategic plans in alignment with the following values: integrity and ethical practice, social justice and multicultural competence, holistic approach, and collaborative partnerships. The Staff Counselor will be responsible for providing psychological services to students in all University programs, including intake assessments, individual and couples counseling, crisis intervention, and providing supportive documentation for students seeking academic accommodations. In addition, the Staff Counselor will provide consultation and outreach programming to the campus community. The SCC provides clinical services in-person, via phone, and through a secure video platform. Due to the need for an in-office presence during business hours in the event of in-person client emergencies, this position is ineligible for regular telework. Occasional telework may be approved in rare circumstances (e.g., inclement weather).

Assistant Professor Physician Assistant MD or DO (.2 FTE) West Des Moines
The Medical Director for the Physician Assistant (PA) program supports the program in ensuring that didactic and clinical instruction meets current practice standards as they relate to the PA role. The Medical Director is an active participant in the program and supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of program competencies, curriculum, program goals, strategic planning, and program self-assessment. The Medical Director may participate in various teaching, learning, and assessment activities, as well as service and/or scholarly activities. The Medical Director reports to the PA Program Director.
Research Assistant: Grant Funded West Des Moines
The Research Assistant will work under the direction of Dr. Kim Tran, MD, PhD on various experimental paradigms aimed at developing and characterizing a novel vasorelaxing peptide. This is a full-time position funded by the National Institutes of Health award for three years.

Director, Operations, Compliance and Strategy West Des Moines

Director of Facilities Management West Des Moines
Responsible for facilities operations at all locations and the supervision of the Facilities Office Administrator employed by DMU and the supervision of all Facilities Management contracted employees. Contracted employees include administrative staff, facilities operations staff, and custodial staff. The Director of Facilities Management will collaborate with the Senior Vice President and CFO to manage the annual budgets at all DMU locations. The Director will manage all contractor relationship and negotiations, department budget, and construction and renovation projects. The Director and department staff will manage DMU campus events and manage department policies and procedures for DMU’s long-term success. The Director will strategically plan in consideration of DMU’s 10-year proforma financial statements and beyond to assure all facilities are managed and maintained for the long-term future. The Director shall serve as a liaison between DMU and the leadership of the contracted facilities services’ operations. The employees of DMU and the employees of the contracted facilities services’ operations shall collaborate for the success of DMU, which includes performance, customer service, long-term strategy, and management of established budgets. Facilities Office Administrator West Des Moines
This position will report directly to the Director of Facilities Management and will provide administrative support to the Facilities Management department by planning, organizing and managing different areas of responsibility. The Director of Facilities Management and the Facilities Office Administrator are employed by the university and all other department staff are contracted employees. This position will provide essential support to the Facilities Management leadership team while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Management office and ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all administrative tasks. The Facilities Office Administrator directly supervises the Administrative Associate and the Front Office & Facilities Associate, which are contracted employees.

Patient Services Representative PRN - Physical Therapy West Des Moines

Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Research, the incumbent manages the full lifecycle of grants, and sponsored program administration including identification of funding sources, grant and contract proposal assistance, grant writing assistance, development and review, proposal submission, grant and contract negotiation, sub-award issuance, and post-award administration (both financial and non-financial) related to funding provided in the form of gifts, grants, cooperative agreements, and contracts from external funding sources (e.g., federal agencies, state agencies, private companies, or foundations) that provide support for research, teaching, and learning, and service mission of the university. Keeping faculty and appropriate staff apprised of the status of grants, current contract or grant policies, regulations, and guidelines made by granting agencies and campus offices; acting as the liaison between principal investigators (PIs) and granting agencies, University offices, etc.; and meeting with faculty and staff to identify research interests and to develop funding strategies and plans. In collaboration with research leadership, supports identified goals for future organizational performance implements assigned tasks, and uses resources needed to attain them, ensuring compliance with university and sponsor guidelines. The position supports the Executive Director of Research in the management of grant programs and partnerships. The responsibilities of the Grants Specialist and Partnership manager may change based on revisions to the research vision and research direction of the University.
Faculty Anesthesiology (.3 FTE- 12 hours per week) West Des Moines
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Specialty Medicine, the physician is responsible for provision of educational lectures, laboratories, and other educational modalities, consistent with the Anesthesiology scope of practice, within the University to support the educational priorities of the Specialty Medicine Department and Des Moines University. In addition to the duties assigned by the University, this physician is expected to maintain a clinical practice outside of the University Clinic System. This is a part-time (0.3 FTE) academic Anesthesiology position with the focus entirely on the education of students. There are no assigned clinical responsibilities with this position.
